We are franchise lawyers.
Our franchise lawyers offer a personal touch to franchising. We give our clients our cell phone numbers. We offer capped rate legal services. Decades of experience give us the legal insight that gets our clients results without the guess-work. We represent franchisors in a variety of industries including restaurant, business brokerage, fast food, retail, health and wellness, services, and more. We use the knowledge and perspective gained from representing franchisors in our counseling of franchisees looking to buy a single franchise unit or multiple units. For a capped fee, we provide a review of the FDD and franchise agreement and prepare a memorandum of negotiating points as well as an addendum to the franchise agreement. We offer our franchisee clients a capped fee lease review to ensure that the lease terms are fair and understood. In addition to these transactional services, we represent both franchisors and franchisees in litigation disputes in federal court, state court, arbitration and mediation.
Here are just some of the franchise law services we offer our clients:
- Drafting Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDD) and Franchise Agreements
- Startup franchising to convert your business into a franchise system
- Serving as fractional general counsel to Florida and nationwide franchisors
- Counseling franchisees in purchasing franchise units
- Trademark Registrations
- Compliance and regulatory issues
- Pre-litigation legal counseling
- Franchise litigation, arbitration and mediation
Our clients will tell you that we are very responsive and never charge for phone calls or emails to discuss your matter. We aren’t interested in “nickel and diming” our clients, and we would rather our clients consider us their partner in an industry riddled with individuals and companies that are not always looking out for others’ best interests. We tell our clients that, in franchising, you cannot be “penny-wise, pound foolish.” There is a lot of money at stake, and due diligence is absolutely necessary. We can provide you the peace of mind in your franchising endeavors.
Franchise Commercial Leasing
The second most important document in the franchise relationship to the Franchise Disclosure Document is a franchisee’s commercial lease. We serve as approved commercial leasing counsel to numerous franchise companies which trust our firm with reviewing and negotiating their franchisees’ leases in a cost-effective, timely manner based on criteria approved by the franchisor. We regularly review commercial leases and deal with landlords across the country.
